Residential Airspace Compliance Notice, Unauthorized Launch Trajectories, Grellmont Terrace (Thurndell Crossing)
Reference: NAGS-TC-2026-0417
This notice is directed at residents of the 300 block of Grellmont Terrace, Thurndell Crossing.
Over the past two weeks, the NAGs Airspace Compliance Subcommittee has received seventeen (17) complaints regarding unauthorized Child Chucker launches originating from this block. Launch trajectories have exceeded the approved residential corridor of 35 degrees by as much as 20 degrees, resulting in children landing outside designated reception zones.
Reported landing sites include:
- The parking lot of Merve's Discount Pharmacy (3 incidents)
- The rooftop garden at 412 Pellway (1 incident; significant crop damage to what the resident described as "award-eligible squash")
- Mrs. Kessik's above-ground pool (4 incidents, Mrs. Kessik has formally requested these stop)
- An unoccupied lot on Drent Street zoned commercial (9 incidents, no complaints filed, but this remains a zoning violation regardless of how convenient the soft dirt is)
All children were retrieved within the recommended 15-minute window, with one exception involving a child who "preferred Merve's to school" and had to be negotiated with by store management. Merve's has since posted a sign reading "NOT A RECEPTION ZONE."
Residents operating Child Chuckers within NAGs-governed communities are reminded of the following requirements:
- Current calibration certificate (renewed annually)
- Pre-launch airspace check (low-flying aircraft, delivery drones, and other children already in transit)
- Trajectory between 15 degrees and 35 degrees from horizontal
- Verbal notification to adjacent properties ("heads up" is sufficient)
Continued non-compliance may result in formal citation, suspension of launch privileges, or mandatory attendance at the NAGs Responsible Chucking Workshop, held the first Saturday of every month. Refreshments are provided. Attendance is not optional if assigned.
