ACTIVE EVENT, UPDATED DAILY

The Bureau of Inflatable Consumer Structures has declared an active containment event at the Gannett Row Transit Hub following the deployment of an FR-1 personal containment enclosure (Fart Room) that has failed to deflate for six (6) consecutive days.

The unit, registered to a commuter whose identity is being withheld for dignity-related reasons, deployed at approximately 7:42 AM on June 2nd on the southbound platform. Standard deflation protocols were initiated within the first hour. The unit did not respond.

Current status:

  • The enclosure has expanded to approximately three (3) times its rated volume
  • It now occupies roughly 40% of the southbound platform
  • The sealed contents have been classified by BICS as "legacy atmospheric material"
  • The enclosure has begun producing a sound described by transit staff as "patient"

Southbound service has been rerouted to Platform C. Commuters should allow an additional 8-12 minutes and are advised to avoid making eye contact with the enclosure. This is not a safety precaution. Multiple commuters have independently described it as "just more comfortable."

ClearAir Containment Solutions has dispatched a technical team. Their initial assessment is that the FR-1's deflation valve has entered what ClearAir's chief engineer termed "a philosophical standoff with the pressure differential." A revised deflation timeline is expected by end of week, assuming the unit does not expand further.

If the enclosure breaches before controlled deflation is achieved, BICS recommends that all individuals within a 200-meter radius close their mouths. This is not an official protocol. It is a suggestion from everyone who has been working this site for six days.

Updates will be posted as conditions develop. BICS thanks the commuting public for its patience. The enclosure thanks no one. It is busy.
