Filing Clerk III, O.O.P.S. Regional Office (Full-Time, Benefits) (Grelmire)
The Office of Operational Product Standards (O.O.P.S.) is hiring a Filing Clerk III for our Pellwick District regional office. Full-time, benefits-eligible, reporting to the Deputy Director of Incident Documentation.
Duties include:
- Sorting, cataloging, and archiving consumer incident reports (average intake: 340/week, higher during product launch cycles)
- Maintaining the physical filing system for Categories A through F. Category G files are handled by a separate department. Do not ask about Category G. Do not attempt to access the Category G wing. The door is locked for filing purposes.
- Processing "duplicate incident" flags, many incidents sound identical but are legally distinct. You will learn the difference.
- Answering phones when the receptionist is at lunch. The receptionist takes lunch from 11 to 2.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years clerical experience minimum
- Ability to read handwriting of varying legibility, including handwriting produced under duress
- Must pass standard background check and baseline reality-concordance screening
Compensation: $18.40/hr + full benefits including dental, vision, and incident-adjacent trauma counseling (3 sessions/quarter, unused sessions do not roll over).
