The person at Kettlevane crosswalk who stands perfectly still every morning at 8:12, I have questions (Kettlevane)
I walk through the Kettlevane crosswalk at Verloe every weekday morning on my way to the tram. For the last THREE MONTHS I have watched the same person stop on the northwest corner at exactly 8:12, stand completely still for somewhere between 90 seconds and two minutes, and then continue walking east like nothing happened.
Things I have confirmed:
- Same person every time. Tall, gray coat, carries a red bag.
- Always the northwest corner. Never any other corner.
- They stop mid-stride. Not at a natural stopping point. MID-STRIDE. One foot forward.
- During the standing period they do not check a phone, do not look around, do not adjust anything. They just stand.
- On two occasions I've seen other pedestrians walk around them without reacting, which means either everyone knows what this is except me or nobody else has noticed, which seems impossible.
Things I have NOT confirmed:
- Whether they blink. I've tried to watch but I can't get close enough without making it weird. It's already weird. I know.
- What happens if it rains. It has not rained on a weekday morning since I started tracking this.
I'm not complaining. I'm not reporting them. I just need somebody to tell me they've seen this too because I started a spreadsheet and I think that means I've crossed a line.
