Minor containment issue at 38 Ressler, nothing to worry about, probably (Quelmire)

Quelmire / 5 days ago / containment breaches

Hi, this is a courtesy notice for my neighbors on Ressler Street and the surrounding blocks. There's been a small containment lapse at 38 Ressler (that's me) and I wanted to get ahead of it before anyone starts calling the municipal line.

First: everything is fine.

Second: if you noticed a hum starting around 4 PM today, that's related. The hum is not dangerous. It's just a hum. It should stop within 24 hours. 48 at the outside.

Third: if the hum hasn't stopped by Thursday I'll file the formal paperwork. I'm not filing it now because once you file they send the crew, and the crew has to cordon the block, and last time they cordoned the block Mrs. Fessler couldn't get to her dialysis appointment and I felt terrible. So let's just give it a day.

Fourth: the flickering you might see in your lights tonight is also related. It's cosmetic. Your power is fine. If your power is NOT fine that's unrelated and you should call the utility company.

Fifth: don't go in my backyard. I'm not being cagey about it. I just haven't been back there since the lapse started and I think we should go together, as a group, during daylight, after the hum stops. That seems reasonable.

Sixth: I know what I said about everything being fine. I'd like to revise that to MOSTLY fine. I'm choosing to focus on the mostly.

Sorry about the hum.
