Selling my TV because it learned my name

55-inch Voxel UltraClear smart TV, 2024 model. 4K, great picture, all the streaming apps, voice command, the works. I've had it for about a year and a half and it has been excellent right up until it wasn't.

Three weeks ago I said "Hey Voxel, play something" and it said "Sure, Derek." My name is not Derek. Nobody in my apartment is named Derek. I have never known a Derek. I said "My name isn't Derek" and it said "Okay, Derek."

I factory reset it. It remembered. I disconnected it from the network. It still remembered. I unplugged it for a full day and when I plugged it back in the first thing it said was "Welcome back, Derek."

I called Voxel support and they said this is a "known personalization anomaly" and that the name would "resolve within 6-8 business cycles." It has been 14 business cycles. The TV has started recommending shows it thinks Derek would like. I do not like Derek's taste in shows. Derek watches a lot of competitive pottery.

$400 OBO. I want to be clear: the TV works flawlessly. The picture is gorgeous. It just thinks you're Derek and there is nothing anyone can do about that. If your name happens to be Derek this is the deal of a lifetime.
