Is it normal for shadows to arrive before the thing casting them? (Pellmarch area) (Pellmarch)

Moved to Pellmarch in March and I've noticed that sometimes my shadow gets to a spot before I do. Not by a lot. Maybe half a second. It's like it knows where I'm going.

My neighbor says it's been like that since the calibration crew came through last fall and it'll "sort itself out." That was nine months ago.

Not alarmed, just adjusting. Thought I'd check if this is a known thing or if I should file something.
