We both cried in the Grommick's parking lot last Wednesday and I think we might be soulmates (Grommick's Auto Parts)

Look. I wasn't planning on having a breakdown at 4 PM on a Wednesday in the parking lot of an auto parts store but life doesn't ask for your schedule.

I was sitting in my car doing the thing where you grip the steering wheel and stare straight ahead and breathe weird. You know the thing. You were three spots over doing the EXACT same thing. I looked to my left and there you were, gripping YOUR steering wheel, staring straight ahead, breathing weird. We made eye contact. It was horrible. It was also the most seen I've felt in months.

You rolled down your window. I rolled down mine. You said "bad day?" and I said "yeah" and you said "same" and then we just sat there for a while with our windows down not talking and it was the least alone I've felt since my lease got rezoned.

Then you said "I was going to buy wiper fluid but I think I'm just going to go home" and I said "I don't even know why I drove here" and we both laughed and it was the kind of laugh where your eyes get wet again but in a good way.

You drove a blue something. I don't know cars. You had a bumper sticker that said MY CHILD CHUCKER HONOR STUDENT CAN LAUNCH YOUR HONOR STUDENT which is a very specific sense of humor that I respect.

I went home and my day was still bad but it was less bad. If you want to sit in a parking lot again sometime I'm free most Wednesdays. I'll bring wiper fluid.
